About Lys Sparrow
Born in Southwest France, Lys Sparrow studied Physics and English, but music took hold, and he graduated with a degree in Sound Production and Engineering.
Lys has written and produced several records as a member of many French bands. His songs have been played on French radio (e.g. Le Mouv’ , RTL, etc.)
He has performed from Paris to Los Angeles, in clubs and at festivals, headlining and opening for famous French bands like Dolly (Warner), FFF (Epic / Sony Music), as well as international artists like Nada Surf (Barsuk/City Slang, USA) and The Whitlams (Warner, Australia).
In Paris he worked as an independent artist and as a Sound Engineer/Composer. He worked with the comedians from “Les Guignols de l’info” Yves Lecoq, Daniel Herzog and Sandrine Alexi and focused on his musical career.
With the help from his many friends in the industry, and especially his long-time associate, Nate Pritchard, Lys began producing his debut solo album. He spent two months in the U.S. at Epiphonic Studios finishing the tracking and mixing of the album. He sang the vocals and played all the instruments except drums (Dave Bollinger and Phill Kirby) and bass (Corey Leonard).
Currently based in Los Angeles, Lys is an artist, a Record Producer, a Sound Engineer and a Music Composer for motion pictures. He’s currently working with up-and-coming singers Alex and Asia Schneider. In films, he has worked on American Virgin (starring Rob Schneider), Noise (starring Tim Robbins), Deal (starring Burt Reynolds), The Guitar (directed by Amy Redford, starring Saffron Burrows), Big Stan (starring Rob Schneider), Dark Matter (starring Meryl Streep) and The Forbidden Kingdom (Jackie Chan & Jet Lee), among others.
Recently, Lys teamed up with Rob Schneider on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) for an epic “Graduation Speech” parody. He has just finished producing and recording Rob’s new comedy album, “Yeah, It is”.
